What's the difference between the SR20 and SR22?

The SR20 is a 215 hp aircraft with a 155 ktas max cruise speed, while the SR22 is a 310 hp aircraft with a 163 ktas max cruise speed and greater range and useful load.

Do I need transition training to rent?

Yes, along with a Private Pilot License, 3rd Class Airman's Certificate, and non-owned renter's insurance. Elite also offers a transition course if you haven't yet trained in the type.
